AEGON Life Insurance Company is headquartered in the Netherlands, recognized worldwide for its stable and sustainable operations. Since entry to Taiwan in 1993, AEGON has applied its extensive experience in various overseas markets to developing specialized services and products for Taiwan customers, catering to needs and preferences of local communities and help policyholders take care of their loved ones and realize their lifetime dreams.

In 1994, AEGON launched a branch in Taiwan. In next few years, it set up AEGON Taiwan Holding Company and AEGON Securities Investment Consulting Co., Ltd (AEGON SICC), providing comprehensive financial security and investment planning consulting and services for corporate and individual customers.

Commitments to Taiwan, proven by aggressive growth

In 1998, AEGON Taiwan took over American Family Life Assurance Company's
in-force business in Taiwan, setting the first precedent of the kind, turning over a new page of foreign insurance companies operating in Taiwan, and speeding up AEGON's business development in the Asia Pacific region.

In 2000, AEGON Group acquired and merged Transamerica Group to expand scope of services and sharpen competitiveness. Following that, in 2001, AEGON Taiwan took over AXA Taiwan's in-force business and injected NT$2 billion to transform the branch into a full-flown subsidiary, possessing assets worth over NT$152 billion.
